Old Bombay street scene
1928

The journey began with Late Pandurang Ganshet Walavalkar.

In 1928, he started his journey from Nalbazar, Mumbai.

There were challenges, struggles and countless obstacles. But he had hard work, intelligence and the determination to build something of his own.

And that determination became the foundation of the Walavalkar Masale legacy.

1934

In 1934, Late Pandurang Ganshet Walavalkar took another important step.

He opened his own shop at Lalbaug Market.

This was more than the beginning of a shop. It was the beginning of a historic journey that would carry the Walavalkar name through generations.

Historic Bombay
1940s

Under his guidance, the second generation of the Walavalkar family continued the journey.

Late Janardan Pandurang Walavalkar — my grandfather — carried forward the values of the family.

In fact, I was named after my grandfather, Janardanji.

Through hard work, honesty and integrity, Walavalkar Masale found its way into homes across Lalbaug and Parel.

The third generation then stepped forward.

My father, Late Ankush Janardan Walavalkar, and my uncle, Lahu Janardan Walavalkar, took the business forward.

Hard work remained at the heart of the business, but it was now combined with a new strength — marketing vision.

Walavalkar Masale expanded beyond Lalbaug and Parel, reaching customers across Mumbai and neighbouring districts.

2004

My childhood was shaped by this family business and its traditions.

I completed my schooling at Bal Mohan Vidya Mandir and my college education at Siddharth College.

I always loved education, but honestly — my love for cricket was a little stronger!

After completing my degree, one thing was clear: I wanted to take the legacy built by my family to a new level.

In 2004, I began my journey as the fourth-generation entrepreneur leading Walavalkar Masale.

2010

My brother Yashodhan joined the business in 2010 after completing his degree.

Together, we continued building on the foundation created by the generations before us.

The responsibility was no longer just about preserving the legacy — it was about creating the next chapter.
